Paul Rucci Earns First Varsity Win

After earning the Save in the previous day, Rucci pitched 5 innings allowing 1 earned run (1 unearned run) and struck out 4 to secure the win vs. Delsea.  Emerich and Keane each had 2 hits on the day.  Azzari, Kelley, Young, and DeFrank all contributed with one hit each.  The Pioneers finish the season on a 4 game winning streak.

The Pioneers played a solid game, which was the last home game for the 3 Senior players (Solomen, Azzari, & Eisenhart).  Giovanni Azzari was 1-3, R, RBI, and a memorable homerun in his final at bat, at Clearview.  Brett Solomen also had a great day going 2-3, 2R's.  Nick DeFrank stayed hot at the plate going 2-3, 2R, 2B.  Evan Emerich also had a multi-hit game going 2-3, 2R, 1RBI, HR.  Keane, Kelley, and Reim all contributed with one hit each.

Steve DiCarlo Pitches a Complete Game for his First Varsity Win

Steve DiCarlo piched a shutout for his first career win.  Eisenhart, DeFrank, Emerich, Keane, Solomen, Young, and Reim each had 1 hit.  The RBI's were supplied by Keane (1), Solomen (2), and Reim (1).  Runs were scored by Emerich, Eisenhart, Keane and Young.

TJ Dezzi Pitches a Complete Game for his First Varsity Win

The Pioneers bounce back after a tough playoff lose.  Freshman TJ Dezzi piched a complete game allowing 5H with 3K's, 1R, and 0BB.  Nick Defrank lead the offensive charge going 4-4, 2B, 3R and 1RBI.

May 23, 2011 Toms River South 7, Clearview 3 (Group IV Playoff) 

Clearview falls short in the first round rematch to Toms River South.  Nick DeFrank went 1-4, 2B, and scored 1 run.  Keane and Reichl each had 1 hit a piece.  McCabe Reim play well defensively throwing out 2 base runners and having 1 assist.

The Pioneers totaled 10 hits on the day vs. #1 ranked G.C. Rams.  Evan Emerich had a multi-hit day going 3-4. Joe Reichl contributed 2 hits and scored 1R.  Eisenhart, Solomen, Keane, Kelley, and Young all had one hit.  The Pioneers runs were scored by:  DeFrank, Solomen, Keane, Riechl, Young, & Azzari.

May 9, 2011 Pitman 11, Clearview 6

The Pioneers fall short at Campbell's Field.  George Eisenhart was 2-2 with a 2B and 2 runs scored.  Brett Solomen was
1-4, with 3 RBI's, and 1 run scored.  G. Azzari also contributed to the offense with 2 hits.  DeFrank, Keane, and Young each had 1 hit each.

SOUTH JERSEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

With 93.1 percent of the vote, Dave Young of the Clearview Baseball team was selected the Rally South Jersey Athlete of the Week. Young threw a seven-inning no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Cumberland. The sophomore struck out seven, walked none, and allowed one base runner on an error with two outs in the sixth inning, in becoming the first Clearview pitcher to throw a no-hitter in 22 years.

May 6, 2011 Highland 5, Clearview 3

The Pioneers lose a tough royal division match-up to the Tartans of Highland.  Evan Emerich led the game off with a solo homerun, he was 1-4 on the day.  Eisenhart, Keane, and Solomen each contributed to the offense with 2 hits each (Eisenhart 2 2B, Keane 2B, Solomen 1R scored).  Dave Young was 1-2, with 1RBI. 

May 2, 2011 Kingsway 8, Clearview 7 (8inn.)

The Pioneers fall in extra innings to the Dragons.  George Eisenhart had a solid pitching performance going 6 strong innings allowing 8H, 2BB, 3K's & 2 UER.

Giovanni Azzari was 2-4, 1R and had 3 RBI's to spark the offense.  Emerich, Bruno, Reim and Kelley each added 2 hits a piece. Eisenhart, Keane, and Reim each had 1RBI.  The pioneers runs were scored by: Emerich (2), Bruno, Azzari, Solomen, Kelley and Reim.

Young Pitches No Hitter

Dave Young (4-2) pitched a complete game no hitter: 0H, 0BB, 7K's.  Joe Reichl and Evan Emerich led the way on offense, each having 2 hits. Eisenhart, Solomen, and Kelley all had one hit a piece. Eisenhart and Solomen had 1 RBI each, while Emerich, Kelley, and Azzari scored the runs for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers end the first half of their season and start a tough conference week, to start the month of May. 

April 29, 2011 Audubon 16, Clearview 14

Clearview lost in an offensive battle to Audubon.  The game was back and forth with multiple lead changes.  Audubon beat the Pioneers on a 2 out 2-run walk-off homer.  The Pioneers had 16 hits on the day.  Steve Keane lead the Pioneers going   5-5, 3 runs scored and 1RBI. Other key contributors where:

The Pioneers gave great run support to starting pitcher George Eisenhart.  Eisenhart pitched  a complete game (6inn.) allowing 2 hits, 1R, and had 5K's to earn his 2nd win of the season.  Joe Reichl and Dave Young each had 3 hits and had a combined 5RBI's and 3 runs scored.  Eisenhart and Kelley each had 2 hits, while Solomen and Basile had 1 hit a piece.

Eisenhart, Kelley, and Solomen each had 1 hit.  Solomen had 2 RBI's on a 2-run homerun, his 5th of the season.  Azzari had 1 run scored.

April 20, 2011 Moorestown 5, Clearview 2

Moorestown uses the long ball to beat the Pioneers.  3 of the 6 total hits for Moorestown were homeruns to total 4 runs.  John Basile hit a 2-run double in the 4th to tie the game at 2 ( Keane/Kelley scored).  George Eisenhart was 2-3.


April 18, 2011 Clearview 14, Pennsville 1

Clearview had 14 hits, (5 Homeruns) behind a strong pitching performance from Dave Young (3-0).  Young pitched a complete game allowing 4 hits, 3 BB, 1ER and 4 strikeouts.  George Eisenhart and 3 hits including a 2B, HR, RBI, and 3 runs scored.  Young was 2-3 with a HR, 2B, 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored. Dan Kelley was 3-4 (6-7 in the past two games), with a 2-run homer. G. Azzari added 2 more hits and a 2-run homer. Brett Solomen hit a 3-run Homer, while John Kramer was 2-3.  The Pioneers will host Moorestown this Wednesday. 

April 11, 2011 Clearview 13, Cumberland 1 

The Pioneers rallied around good pitching, defense, and hitting.  Dave Young earned his 2nd win of the year (2-0) by pitching 5 innings and only allowing 3 hits, 1 run, while striking out 7.  The Pioneers hit 3 homeruns (Solomen 2, Kelley 1) to lead the way on offense.

April 10, 2011 Absegami 6, Clearview 1

The Pioneers totaled 6 hits on the day.  The offense was lead by Evan Emerich who had 2 hits and 1 run scored. Eisenhart, Azzari, Solomen, and Keane each had 1 Hit.  Azzari drove in 1 run.  Steve DiCarlo had another successful outing in relief pitching 2 innings (0 hits, 0 walks, 2K's, 0 runs).

April 6, 2011 Williamstown 10, Clearview 9

The Pioneers battled back from a 4 run deficit to score 6 runs in the 5th inning.  Giovanni Azzari sparked the rally with a 2 run double, follwed by a Brett Solomen 3-run homer.  Williamstown would answer with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning.  In the 6th each team would add three more runs.  Finally, in the 7th the Braves added a walk off single to win the game.

April 4, 2011 Clearview 5, Kingsway 3 

George Eisenhart was 2-4 with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. George pitched the final 3 innings with 4 Ks, 0 BB (1-1 on the season). He added a 2 run HR in 7th to tie the game (3rd of the season- 1 in each game) Evan Emerich was also 2-4 with 3 RBI's and 1 run scored.  Evan added a 2 run walk-off HR in 7th to win the game.  Brett Solomen and John Basile each added a hit. 

TJ Dezzi scored 2 runs.
Azzari and Keane each added 1 RBI. 

April 3, 2011 Clearview 9, Oakcrest 5

The Pioneers earned their first win of the season with a win over Oakcrest.  Dave Young pitched his way to his first Varsity win, while adding 2 doubles at the plate.  The Pioneers had 7 extra base hits on the day.  Steve Keane had 3 hits and 2 RBI's.  George Eisenhart, Brett Solomen, John Basile and Dave Young had 2 hits a piece.
